MIST Video Detection and Object Tracking

MIST Video Detection and Object Tracking
MIST is an advanced system for the real-time analysis of streaming video data, with the capability of identifying and tracking moving objects. What makes MIST special is its combined use of normal daylight and thermal imaging technology, combined with sophisticated analysis software to provide true day and night, all weather protection.

MIST - Advanced Digital Analysis
How does MIST work?
MIST identifies and classifies moving pixel groups against a set of demanding and sophisticated rules. Once identified, moving pixel groups become target candidates which, if they continue to satisfy an ascending rule hierarchy, mature as tracked targets. This analysis process is instantaneous, so there is no delay in identifying a potential threat.
Designed to operate in the most hostile conditions, MIST is capable of correctly identifying and tracking multiple targets against all manner of background clutter. In fact, rigorous testing has demonstrated that MIST can reliably detect and track targets consisting of only a few grouped pixels, moving consistently through very complex scenes, including waving grass, trees, clouds or waves. In such instances, MIST does not confuse moving background clutter with actual moving targets.
A single MIST detector can provide reliable day and night detection of targets at ranges of up to 30km, in any weather!
A further advanced feature associated with MIST is the facility for the operator to define a protection area on-screen. By applying Virtual Trip Wires (VTW), Virtual Cages (VTG), and Virtual Warning Zones (VWZ), which can be drawn into the scene using interactive tools, an operator can focus the system to concentrate only on those areas in a scene that actually require protection. This has huge advantages over other systems which place the load of threat assessment in a busy scene solely onto the operator.

Applications
MIST is highly suitable for a wide range of applications ranging from both civilian and military asset protection, to Search & Rescue.

MIST - Features and Benefits
Benefits and Features
Extremely low false-trigger rate
Improved site vigilance
Requires minimal operator interaction
Improved threat response cycle
Reduced operating costs

MIST - Operational Preformance and Compatibility
Operational performance and compatibility
MIST is compatible with all Netwatch digital servers, and recording and communication products
Utilises advanced Thermal Imaging camera detector with a variety of fields of view and detection ranges
Audible and visual warnings or alarms when targets interact with Virtual Trip Wires, Warning Zones or Cages
System provides configurable filters and rules to suit operator requirements
Event Recording
Used in conjunction with the Netwatch CCTV product range, MIST can activate normal vision (fixed or PTZ) cameras to home-in on and record trespass and intrusion events; including defined periods of time immediately preceding VTW transgression
Path Prediction
MIST can comfortably identify and track multiple targets, and can show tracks of past positions and predict future routes, based on general heading. The Path Prediction facility is particularly useful when an object is momentarily obscured.
Compatible with all Netwatch features
MIST is fully compatible with the AR&T Netwatch range of networked video surveillance products, and can be built into large corporate or military networks. Such systems can then detect remote events and distribute the resulting video data to all locations on the network. Video data from MIST may also be stored for future rapid retrieval and reference using the AR&T Evidence Submission Management System.
Will integrate with other systems
MIST is a fully integrated Netwatch product, but may also be added to existing video systems to improve performance and reduce operator stress. The visual displays are easy to understand and simple to operate. AR&T and our agents provide support to clients through the planning stages and will configure MIST systems on clients’ premises, if required.
